To Japanese, Mount Fuji was far more than a beautiful landscape — it was a for a worship. Pilgrims journeyed to Mt Fuji not for leisure, but with a deep sense of devotion.

While Arakurayama Sengen Shrine is perhaps the most iconic spot in the area, the true treasures lie a little further off the beaten path. Quiet stone pathways lead to ancient shrines nestled in cedar forests, offering a rare and peaceful glimpse into a Japan.

Art and Culture

At the foot of Mount Fuji, the landscape has long inspired artists and creators of all kinds, giving rise to a cultural scene as rich and unique as the mountain itself.
One highlight is the Kubota Ichiku Art Museum, recognized in the Michelin Guide, where extraordinary kimonos reimagine the ancient Tsujigahana dyeing technique in breathtaking fashion.

Beyond the museum, local artisans, a jewelry museum, a ninja village, and crystal-clear spring water fed by the mountain's snowmelt all add to the charm of this remarkable destination.

Exploring Rich Nature

From the mysterious moss-covered Aokigahara forest to the peaceful lakes and lava caves, falls where water seeps through volcanic rock, the nature surrounding Mount Fuji is as dramatic as it is diverse — all shaped by centuries of volcanic activity.

For those who love the outdoors, a ropeway ride with panoramic views or a hike around the Fifth Station are not to be missed.
